Hi all,

My neighbour has a few little probs with her laptop which is wireless, she lives 2 doors away from me. Both my laptop and hers are side by side, minebeing logged on to BT my ISP which also is my neighbours, both of us have BT home hubs.
She cannot log onto internet in my house, she is approx 50 feet away from her BT Home hub. I have tried turning my PC off but she still cannot log on. How can she use my BT Hub connection as we need to go onto internet for certain things.

Prob 2.

When she tries logging on to internet explorer she still has orange on the top as her ISP but not on BT Yahoo Internet, how can we get orange deleted off Internet explorer.

Thanks Guys

You should have common server to access two computers at a same time and they should be routed through the server which has a common internet connection. Otherwise, try live messenger or orkut to communicate. Also, yahoo live !! For her to have yahoo on internet, let her first go to Orange and go to yahoo. In yahoo page on left hand side top corner you will find "make yahoo your home page" click on this and a msg will appear confirming yahoo has been made your home page. Good luck.

My BT wireless router works at more than 50 feet through 3 walls to the back garden but the router is on a shelf 4 feet off the ground for a better signal. It might be even better on the laptop by using an extension cable for the USB wireless adapter. The BT Voyager 1055 USB Adapter spec says max range indoors of 50m (164 ft) and 250m open space - solution on a dry day is to hang the boxes out of the windows.

For Home Page, go to required site, then use Internet Explorer Tools, Internet Options and click on Use Current.

The Bt Homehub can only work over a short distance. You'd need a Faster /Wider Modem Router cost about £100, to have more of chance of connecting to each other

tey may be running on the same wifi channel. If you go in to your routers configuration screens there should be an option to choose a different channel (think you can choose between 1-12) Another thing which may interfere is a cordless phone running on the same channel. again this is easily sorted by choosing a new channel

try connecting your two laptops via LAN (local area netwrok). you would have got a blue or yellow cable off BT and use it to connect the laptops together. go into network connections on both laptops and the enable the LAN.
