I work in software development, but have no idea how often I should upgrade my cpu. When I first bought my computer, it was nice and slick. As time passed, I added programs, used space, etc. What's a good guage of when one should upgrade their cpu? I'm thinking something along the line of "X% of cpu capability for Y amount of time". But, any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

If you are not a tech savy computer builder, replacing a CPU is not a very good, first of all in most cases it is not just the proccesser you have to replace but also the motherboard, power supply and so on,if your computer is getting old,buy a new one.
