I sent out 4 applications to college in my states and have only heard back from one. I sent them all out by the end of February it is now almost the end of march. Is no news good news or bad? I did get accepted to one of the schools but its not my top choice and I do not want to sen a deposit just to have then return it.

How long did it take for your letters acceptance or not to get back to you?

Every school is different. How I looked at it is they made piles, yes, maybe/needs to get looked over again, and no piles. Most are usually in the maybe pile. I applied for Michigan State University December 17th, had gotten a letter in April saying they're going to wait to see that semesters grades, and I had finally gotten my letter of accepptance June 16th, so it pretty much took 6 months to find out, but it happened.

And for when you do get the letter in the mail and if it's a small envelope, don't give up yet, cuz that's what the letter came in in April. Also, even if you're not acceppted, the school will still send you a letter stating that, so just because you haven't heard of anything doesn't mean you are or arent acceppted. Try calling the school to see how long it usually takes and when their deadline is. Just don't give up hope. It'll happen.

Well, I'm not sure if you are applying for undergraduate or graduate study. But if it helps, for undergraduate, if you haven't heard by now, chances are you're not going to. However, some schools run very slow in the applications office. I would say it is all over by May, but you stil have some time. For, graduate study, they usually take care of interviews come March, and if you haven't heard anything by the end of April, you are unlikely to. However, I was accepted to undergraduate study the first week of May and graduate study the last week of April, so you still may have some time. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I didn't get my acceptance letter until the end of April but I found out a couple of week sooner that I got accepted online since I submitted my application online through the university's website.

Usually the colleges that you applied to have websites and they posts deadlines, etc., a well as when you should hear from them depending on when you submitted your application. Based on the fact you didn't apply till February, you missed the Early Decision deadlines, so you won't be hearing from them till next month. But you will hear from them and good luck.
