Honestly? I'll give you my opinion on the matter, being a lesbian that has been approached by quite a few bisexual women.

It's been my experience (I know there are exceptions to every rule) that most bisexual women are willing to experience the sexual aspect of another woman, and having fun and hanging out. However, they are usually not looking to "settle down" with another woman.

Usually, their idea of "settling down" includes a man so that they can have the conventional wedding and kids. That's not so easy to do with another woman. Also, they find that society/family will accept their relationship with a man much moreso than a relationship with another woman.

Lesbians who are looking for a long-lasting, meaningful relationship will steer clear of bisexual women more often than not. However, if they are just looking for a "fling" or having some fun, then they might be interested in a bisexual woman.

It's not fair, of course, to bisexual women who would actually have a long-term relationship with another woman, but there are too many bisexual women out there that fit the mold I described above.

Maybe just talk it out, and if you're serious about a long-lasting relationship with another woman, then just explain what you're looking for ... they might be more open to it.

Best of luck!

I would bet that they are afraid of becoming involved (sexually or emotionally) and getting dumped for a man who they simply can't directly compete with.

Lesbians, like most people in western culture, often have the belief that everyone can only have one intimate partner at a time. A bisexuals propensities can also be interpreted as a threat to that belief.

As a bisexual, you have demonstrated that you (probably) function with and like men. Additionally, they probably are concerned that if you are pressured socially about homosexuality, then you will slip back into "straight mode" instead of confronting those pressuring about your non-straight interests.

An additionally factor is whether your sexual attraction and emotional/romantic attraction are to different sexes. If you are only interested in women sexually but not romantically, they might get used. If you are romantically interested in women and more sexually interested in men, then they might be left hanging or unsatisfied in an intimate relationship.

Finally, some lesbians probably have concerns about STD's. Assuming proper hygiene and sex toy maintenance, lesbians tend to have lower risk factors because sexual activity with men (especially penetrative anal sex) has higher rates of transmission for blood-borne diseases.

Not always. On the marriage issue they are like anyone else and don't want to be caught up in drama. Some think that having a relationship with one like ME would end up in heartbreak of me leaving with a man. Also, bi women have been given the bad wrap of being viewed as promiscuous or slovenly. I been called some really bad names. There are a lot of lesbians out there who are very nice and open minded.
Just treat everyone the way you would like to be treated.

I don't think lesbians or strait men really trust someone who is bi. If they are looking for a serious relationship, how do they know if you're picking the right sex? It more or less doubles the people you could cheat with, does it not? If you don't know which you prefer, why would they bother with you?

Lesbians tend to get "turned off" by bisexuals because they think most bisexuals are only experimenting and will cut and run when things get too intense. They don't want their hearts broken.

Lesbians tend to be exceptionally picky in terms of relationships. Unlike men, who don't really give a crap about the past.

I don't understand that. Who cares who you have slept with before. They should be worrying about the now. Some must be scared by some thing that makes them think this way. Don't worry
