What film stars a Spanish/Mexican woman obssessed with death?

I think the film begins with an 'S'. Maybe it's called Severed or something similar.

I dont know if its the same one as im thinking of, In this one the Latin American is raped by her father as a youngster, then finds work in San Fransisco putting bolts through cows heads to make ends meet. She eventually hitches a ride in a time-machine back to 1800's London and gets a job painting raillings for the council but is spotted by an art dealer who see's an opportunity to maket her as a contemporary exibit.
Until the art dealer has his head cut off in an accident at the mill. It goes into a wishy washy sequence to put over the merits and pit falls of trying to ride a dodgy ticket out of hicksville, untill she is once again invigorated under the influence of some pock faced namby pamby in the latest fashion who woes her off to have children in a large barn in the country.
