Used to hear about a cafe many years back where adventurous people go to.... sharing and chatting about travelling... heard that the cafe sometimes also organise slideshows sharing session... Anyone has any idea of such a place?

Inn Crowd, Dunlop Street, Little India. 10 minutes walk from Bugis Junction MRT. Take the train form Terminal Two, change trains at Tanah Merah.
Inn Crowd offers really clean Dorms for S$18/night. Has lots o Western folk doin serious travel and organizes cheap day trips.
Also got the cheapest house beer in town or walk across the street and buy Thai Beer from the Mama Papa shop. Also got 70m proof Ginsing Tonic, guaranteed no Hang-Over.
