If you accept your mistakes and are open about them, you no longer have to hide them. You are free and can move on. You aren't tied to your mistakes anymore, and you can make a new attempt at being the person you want to be.

OK, so define screwed up? Are you merely looking at others and judging yourself against them? Or can you sit back and say I am different from them? If you truly feel that you have gone down too many wrong paths, then seek help. It's not always easy making the first step towards admitting to another that you have problems but if you do and seriously want help then approach your doctor or the relevant agency to help with your problem. You are obviously not happy as you are, so it's time to let it out, by that I mean discussing it with the relevant person. Keeping things bottled up, never did anyone any good, so get rid of it and be happier. Good luck!

who are you admitting it to? why do they care? I am one of the most fu**ed up people I know. But I do have some things to offer the world. You can say I put on a mask when I am at work, because nobody would ever guess that I am the way I am when I am alone. But it's your choice - if you think you're screwed up and it BOTHERS you, then work on changing it . If it doesn't bother you, it doesn't matter . Okay,. I lost my thought./. i'm out

I think those of us that are screwed up would rather not let it be known. So yes, i suppose there is a front. But..i also think that if you're screwed up it stands out anyway. You probably act weirder trying to cover it up than you do just being weird.
Agree?

I remained messed up until I talked to someone else in my 12 step group about my fears, resentments, guilts and sins. When I did this (because the pain became unbearable) I found that the person I shared them with said-I've done that too and thought those things also. I then found out I wasn't alone anymore. I was also released from my deep depression, the pain, the lethargy and that terrible weight that physically weighed me down.
May God bless and protect you.

People are far more sympathetic to your needs if you admit that you are having problems.. however you are also more of a target for critisism as your heart is on your sleeve.
That how I feel anyway...
I have problems and I didnt tell anyone for ages and just soldiered on but then when I finally admitted it people were more understanding and alot more supporteed but I do feel sometimes that people mock me because of it!

Faking it wont help, we are all human and make stupid mistakes, sometimes very stupid. Being able to admit it is what is the true test of a person's character.

who cares?
I dont know anyone who isnt screwed up in some way.
Just live life as it comes and be happy about yourself instead of worrying if you are screwed up.
