ok my brother in-law was driving his car down the road and all of a sudden the motor starts knocking hard as hell.....tock tock tock and the more her accelerates the car the louder and more consistent the loud gets. we checked the oil and it was fine.....but if u put ur hand over the valve cover you feel the valves knocking. does anyone have an EDUCATED solution for this problem?.....please only EDUCATED non-ignorant answers PLEASE!

pull the valve cover and see if it broke a rocker arm or maybe one came loose, if not put it back together and get some wynns friction proofing or marvel mystery oil and add it to the oil and see if things get better, possibly a lifter collapsed and if not too bad the additive could free it up.
