Money is a good idea (mostly coins).
The rest depends upon the ages of the kiddies getting the eggs.
If you have younger kids (under 3), I recommend that you don't put a lot of stuff in them that they can swallow. So, jelly beans or something like that may be o.k.
For older kids, maybe small toys like plastic rings (for fingers) and maybe some chewy candy like Tootsie Rolls. You may also want to put "clues" in them if you are doing an egg hunt. The "clues" can lead to small toys - like stuffed animals or something like that. The kiddies can go on a scavenger hunt.

Last time I opened a plastic easter egg thingy, I found some panty hose. Had to give them back. They didn't fit.

If you are hiding them outside then NOT with candy! lol The ants may find them before the kids do! How about little toys like a bouncy ball, or bunny shaped erasers, or dress-up rings or bracelets, stickers, anything tiny. Coins go over well with kids too!

Candy & Money. My sister used to do that, and hid the eggs. We had our own easter egg hunt.

For little boys you can get the bigger plastic eggs and fill them with little matchbox cars or you can get stickers and any little toys you can pick up at Wal-Mart or Target.
