I have a CooCoo clock and it will stop at various hours but will always be at 5 minutes to the hour,?

It has the Music, and dancing figures, I have had it for 15 yrs. It can run for days yet it will stop other times hourly always at 5 to the hour. It is a 24 hour clock.

You might have a good look at the base of the hands where they go on the shaft of the mechanism.......make sure they aren't slipping ..also make sure the hands aren't bent and interfering with one another at 5 to the hour. I know it sounds silly....but I payed $200.00 dollars to have my watch repaired for the same problem......which never was discoverd by the watch maker......I stumbled on the problem myself

Seems to me it might be set to do that so it's giving you a 5 minute heads up that it's about to be on the hour.....I've heard of clocks doing this before.
