If you are a teenager then it takes some time for things to get regular. If you are an adult then that sound normal to me. My cycles are anywhere from 24-30 days and last 3-7 days. They are never the exact same every month.

If you want to find out when you are ovulating then get a basal thermometer. I had to do that awhile to get pregnant (if that's why you are asking). You will also see a sticky clear/yellow discharge around ovulation time. I keep a chart in excel to keep track of my cycles and ovulation times. I also chart ejaculation times, spotting, light days and heavy days. I keep track of cramping too because that usually occurs around my menstruation time or ovulation time. Charting your body will help you figure your cycle better.

I don't think a couple of days here and there indicates irregular periods. I have been trying to conceive for 6 months also, and my cycles vary from 24 to 28 days. The best thing you can do is buy an ovulation predictor kit (any chemist will be able to get one for you). It is simple to use (you just test your urine once a day) and when you get a positive result that means you are at your most fertile. One thing I must add is that you will ALWAYS get your period exactly 14 days after you ovulate. Not many people know this! Very helpful in knowing when to expect your next period (if you are going to have one)

Good luck and keep smiling :)

I wouldn't have said that a 28 day cycle followed by a 30 or 33 day cycle was irregular. Some people's could be anywhere from between 3 weeks to 3 months apart. I don't think it's ever really possible to tell when you're ovulating. What you need to do is have sex every 2 or 3 days & relax a bit. Sometimes it's possible to conceive a couple of days after sex, when you ovulate while the sperm's still alive inside you.

You can spend your life worrying about cycles and basal body temperature and all this is going to do is stress you out. Enjoy your partner, have sex every couple of days and relax - try to forget about the baby-making. Worrying about ovulation and BBT can really kill the mood and make you less likely to conceive.

I know that can sound like useless advice when you're TTC but as someone who spent 3 years TTC I know what I'm talking about. Most couples will conceive naturally within a year assuming they are having regular sex and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. For those who don't, seek the support of your GP and local fertility clinic.

Good luck :~)

The ovulation kits can help you with your planning. Also, this may sound gross........but you can tell when you ovulate. When you wipe, its like a slippery egg white feeling.

Not many women have a set cycle so it is going to be hard to have an exact day. Also, by monitoring your temperature in the am, you can track your ovulation.

Good luck
