I was in a small crash a few days ago. I swerved to get out of the way of another crash that happened in front of me and ran up on the curb. No serious body damage and I drove away just fine. The problem is that now my car is having other problems. At about 2000 rpm the car becomes very loud. After shifting gears it is just fine but just excelerating will make the car growl. There is also a lot more engine vibration now. I have a feeling that is it something with the exaust but I would think that it would still be loud when idleing. If you could help me diagnose my problem, i would greatly appreciate it.

You possibly have subframe damage or a damaged motor/transmission mount. Or it could be as simple as a bent/damaged CV shaft. Any of those would explain the vibration problem you are having.

The loud noise is most likely a broken exhaust component (from the engine back to the mid-pipe). Call around to different auto repair shops and ask if anyone does free inspections. Dealerships will generally not do a free inspection, but most all small shops will. If not, take it in and pay for an oil change and just about any shop will do a 10 point inspection while they have the car in the air for the oil change. Good luck!

it sounds like you might have a bad or bent motor mount , to check motor mounts see if they are centered in the mount if they are touching the side or close when you put a load on the engine they could vibrate, if you see they are bent some times you can remove and straighten it out if the mounts are bent the engine will not be setting straight and the exhaust might leak because the gasket is not setting right good luck

Yup you blew out a possible tranny or motor mount and slipped the exhaust donut or crack in exhaust from the torsion of the engine when curbed

Have your axles checked out. It could be frame damage depending on how hard you hit. Then again you could have knocked something loose. Best bet take it to a shop and have it looked at - most places won't charge unless they do a diagnostics test.

i might initiate with ask your self absorbers or struts, reckoning on your vehicle. if your vehicle has better than 60-seventy 5,000 miles this may well be a good beginning element. Shocks and strut overall performance starts to become worse after this mileage.

have the exhaust checked as you might have tore a small hole in it and also have the motor mounts checked as it sounds like your motor is vibrating and that is a indication that you have a broken mount.
