That's disgusting! A Black girl gets 7 years in the penitentiary for accidentally pushing a White school aide, and a White girl gets probation for burning down her parents house!

I guess "seperate but equal" never ended! Jim Crow still lives in Paris, Texas (a city where they used to burn Black men alive in the county fair grounds!)

Oh I see, you're trying to turn this into a racist thing. That's just plain stupid. You can't judge someone for the color of their skin just like you can't judge this judge's judgment on another case. Every case has different outcomes for different reasons. Maybe the other girl's parents didn't want to press charges.

You sound like you're saying that this girl who has been convicted of a crime shouldn't be punished which is just plain BS. The mere fact that she pushed a door attendant is a crime. She probably did it to impress her friends, well she got busted for it. Tough luck but if you can't take the punishment then don't to the crime. It's that plain and simple. If you ask me, she got off lucky.

BTW, I went to that address you gave and nothing came up. Sorry but I think this is a scam.

Judges are always influenced by both their own perceptions and those of the community. A truly objective review of this situation is difficult, granted the tremendous power that individual judges have over individual defendants.

Sorry, skippy, but I find your post racist and insulting. You tell only one side of the story and make no mention whatsoever of any injuries the attendant suffered nor what justification - if any - the girl may have had to take the action she did. Any way you slice it, the actions she took were criminal, and she got what the judge thinks she deserved.

The only help you'll get from me is a report to Yahoo!Answers to get your question deleted.

Hard to believe that's all to the story. She was given the maximum sentence for a minor, as if she was found guilty of murder.

However if true the governor should intervene.

Why does a website dedicated to freeing someone had a .com after it? Sounds like someone is in it for the money.

BTW, I did a search for Shequanda Cotton and got Jack-Schit.

They send little girls to prison?

Texas along with most of the south is racist, so i'm not really surprised. Shw shouldn't lose her whole childhood to this. There has to be some kind of catch to it or something. did she have a past criminal record?
