Hi Silver
Basically, Outside the Box is correct.
We all hear voices in our heads from time to time. Sometimes they are positive - "Oh, nice job!" - and sometimes they are negative "Oh wow, you really screwed up on that one". And dometimes they're neutral.
I've no idea whether any of these voices are demonic; I'm quite sure that many of them are carried over from childhood.
Next time you hear one of these voices notice if it sounds like anyone you've ever known. Very often you'll recognise, by the sound of the voice or the words used, someone from the past whose opinion of you was, for better or worse, very influential.
For some people the negative messages can become excessive to the point where they become unbearable and seem to be uncontrollable. Or the voices may in fact be repressed feelings which reach a destructive intensity.
Did you ever think: "I wish so and so would drop dead"? Imagine if "so and so"got on your case so badly that this thought kept repeating over and over again. Can you imagine how this might eventually translate into a belief that the a voice or voices in your head was/were telling you to kill that person?
From the other direction. Suppose you had a voice or voices in your head telling you how nice other people were, and encouraging you to be kind and helpful towards them.
How long would it take for that voice to seem unusual? How long would it take for that voice to get you into trouble (unless it told you to help people who didn't want your help)? And how would you ever get the idea that such a "voice" was telling you to harm someone else?

I believe Joan of Arc heard voices...she claimed it to be the voice of God. She led raids across France to recover it from the English in the Hundred Year's War. Thousands died at her hand and at the hand of the Army she led.
In her mind, she was performing the "good will" of God and was consequently burned at the stake for being considered a witch.
Did Joan of Arc perform goodness and help her fellow countrymen? Yes but in the process murdered many people...was Joan of Arc a schizo?

Thanks to Hollywood Schizophrenics like West Virginians have a bad name. Schizophrenics rarely kill anyone, they do have auditory hallucinations, they more likely hear voices outside themselves telling them people are evil, it makes them paranoid. West Virginians do not have the monopoly on serial killers either but watch and you'll hear a lot of references to that in movies and tv programs. Schizophrenia is a brain disorder-they can't decide what to think. Anymore than writer's in hollywood.

good question. Probably because no one gets arrested or becomes news material for helping people......so you never hear about the ones that act on good voices.

Schizophrenia is a mental condition often caused by high levels of stress. It makes people fearful of the world around them. For instance if you were petrified of spiders, whould you go and help them? Or if you are scared of the dark, would you spend your life in the dark?
It is in essence human fear, and things we are fearful of, we want to go away.

How do you know they don't? We never hear about the "good" stuff in the news anyway. It's only the bad stuff.
You don't hear:
"There was a house on fire yesterday and 3 survived"
but you hear:
"There was a house on fire yesterday and 5 died"

First of all it's a mental disorder so it's not going to be positive otherwise it wouldn't be classed as a disorder.
Second of all a voice saying to kill is not that common it's usually constant ridicule of the person inflicted with it.
Third of all "be a good person" that is just insulting. If your mum came up to you and said "Kill your brother with drain-o cleaner or it's you" would you kill your brother? I doubt it. I bet you wouldn't even consider it for a moment and you would find the request very distressing and more of a threat to your own safety then your brothers because you just wouldn't do it ever.

The ones that do good from listening to their inner voices, don't go on trial for crime.

Call me religious or anything else, but these are demonic spirits telling them this. Demons are not going to tell you to help someone.
