I have a Web site that I want to be able to be used by people who go on the Internet on their phones or PDAs. My site looks fine on both when the CSS style sheets are turned off, but not so great when they are on. Any code that I can put in site to make them automatically turn off for mobile devices?

You can create separate style sheets for PCs and handhelds by adding a "media" specification to the statement that loads the stylesheet.
For example, . Use media ="screen" for PCs.

Each persons PDA or cell phone will do the "turning off" off CSS. Thats why putting all decoration and formating in CSS is good for doing that. You can even replace CSS or use your own CSS on websites with your PC broswer. This is basically that PDAs etc do.

Download Opera as your browser. It has options to remove style sheets and I believe they have a version for phone or PDA.

Set the media type for your main stylesheet to "screen" so only normal web browsers will use it. Phones will look for "handheld" stylesheets, so you can even make a separate stylesheet to use there.
