What does the abbreviations A.A.S. degree stand for? How would you abbreviate bachelor's of science?

I don't understand the two A's in the first. I thought bachelor's of science would just be"B.S.?" How about B.S.S?

Bachelor of Science = B.Sc. or B.S.

the abbrivation for bachelor's of science is BS
