I am hearing nothing but good things about the Wii. I reluctantly stopped buying Nintendo products after Super Nintendo. I could not get into the N64 or the Gamecube so I traded console brands off to turn to Sony's PS1 &2. I like the 360 and PS3, but it seems to me that you have to purchase so many accessories with the consoles to make it complete. It is just so d*mn expensive. I have a part time job working in a movie rental store and customers seem to praise the Wii more than the other 2 consoles. Is this Wii, Nintnedo's last great hope? What are the pros and cons about the Wii? Thanks for your time.

Much like you, I gave up on Nintendo with the release of the Playstation. I'm not too much of a hardcore gamer, with few games recently released that hold my attention (About the only time I really get into a game is for games such as Gran Turismo, God of War, etc.)

I purchased a Wii solely based on the premise that I would be able to download older Nintendo games onto its Virtual Console. That really was the only selling point for me, other than price. A Wii for $250 when a PS3 is $599 and a Xbox 360 is $399? Of course, you'll need an extra remote and nunchuck, as well as the classic controller for Virtual Console games, but that still comes out to be cheaper than a 360.

I have throughly enjoyed my Wii for the month I've had it now. The best games are the ones that take advantage of the Wii's unique controller such as Wario: Smooth Moves, WiiSports, and Trauma Center. Sure, the system has its shortcomings: graphics look little better than those found on the Gamecube, the controller system isn't perfect (it is very good though), game selection is a little lacking because the controller system makes ports a bit more difficult, etc. But overall, the Wii has made playing video games fun again, much like the original NES did back in its day. The Wii brings you into the game, because your motions control the game. It's not about button mashing, it's about interaction, and that's something no other system can offer right now.

It depends if your a serious or casual gamer. The xbox is focused more towards a serious gamer with mainly shooter and racing games. The Wii is focused around the novelty of its controller. Personally gaming is a hobby for me and I have both an Xbox 360 and a Wii along with my gaming PC. I don't play the Wii that much but my dad loves playing Wii Play and Wii Sports. When I play the only games I play so far have been Trauma Center, which is freaking awesome, and Zelda. Also Save your xbox 360. Right now there are some shat games but pretty soon there is gonna be some really good games: Transformers, Halo 3, Assassians Creed, Fable 2, Guitar Hero 3, Rock Band, and Half-Life 2: Orange Box (has Portal,Half-Life 2 Episode 2, Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2 Episode 1, and Team Fortress 2). However the Wii will be getting Mario Party 8 which is pretty cool too. It all boils down to wether you like playing shooters and High Def gaming or wether you are just a casual gamer. Personally I would keep the xbox 360 unless you had excess cash then the wii is a good sidekick system

I'll tell you what... I haven't bought a console since N64... i wanted the Wii when i heard it was coming out... then backed off till i heard some reports from real people... and then when I couldn't find one my desire to own one increased... i broke down and bought one on Ebay for 75 dollars over retail... woth every penny... i am 35, fiance is 28, have a boy 12, and girl 8 and we all love it... the sports game that comes with it may seem simple and just a gimmick item... but it is a whole bunch of fun... bought Wii play to get an extra controller and that too is very fun...
Zelda is everything it should be and more...
SuperMonkeyBall has so many mini games i haven't played them all yet...

If you get a chance...pick one up... you won't be sorry

My son and his best friend have had every gaming console on the market. I'm serious, like my son bought XBox and his friend bought Playstation. They would swap them back and forth and all that. Anyway, my son has a Wii and he loves it! The only con about the system that I have heard him talk about is that there isn't as wide of a selection of games for it yet, but that will be short lived. By the way my son is almost 20 and has always loved RPG's. But I will say that he still hasn't parted with his PS2 yet!

The Wii is well worth the 250 price tag.

The Pros:
-Tons of fun for a lot of people, playing it or not.
-It's all around fun
-Zelda Twilight Princess

The Cons:
You might get hurt if you try to hard.

There are decent games for it, and I think everyone that owns a Wii won't be disappointed.

yeah the wii is awesome. i would definitally recommend it. Just go to the local Best buys or wal mart and pick one up there. The only problem is its still really hard to find the wii. Best buy and wall mart are always sold out. Try going to this site and type in your Zip Code. http://doiop.com/locatethewii It will tell you when shipments of the Wii are in your area and how many. its really helpful. it worked for me
