You cannot major in oncology. Oncologists are medical doctors. To become a physician, in college you can major in almost anything you want, but you must complete the difficult prerequisite courses needed to be admitted to medical college. When you get your BS or BA degree and complete the MCATs (like SATs only much harder) the you can apply for med school. After you complete four years of medical school then you can apply to do a residency in oncology. After about 3 to 5 years you will be a junior partner in a medical practice that specializes in treating cancers.
For more information about medical schools see the website of the Association of American Medical Colleges.
