I mean chamberlin was the only dominant center of his time so it was so EASY for him to just catch the ball 5 feet from the basket and make the easy shot, I mean he has my respect obviously. but kobe is SOO much better. I mean this guy gets close to what chamberlin does by shooting fade away 3 pointers with 2 guys on him. I mean he is UNSTOPPABLE, even michael jordan couldn't hit some of the shots kobe could hit (not saying kobe's better). so when people always say "oh why are you making such a fuss about kobe, wilt aVERAGED 50 points a game" its like wtf?? I mean show kobe some respect.

It's just the records, the number of points they scored. No one else has over 80 besides Wilt and Kobe. Wilt and Kobe also are the only ones who have scored 50 or more in 4 straight games.

The only reason they are comparing Kobe to Wilt is because last night Kobe became the only player to score 50 points in 4 straight games other than Wilt Chamberlain. And Kobe is not better than Wilt. Wilt averaged 50 points a game for a season and scored 100 points in a game. When Kobe does that then you can talk.

I dont know, chamberlain was a center that was taller than everyone who he played. and kobe plays guard but hes 6"8 and no other guard that he plays is 6"8 so theres really no difference. Kobe is the 4th best pure scorer i think ever behind Jerry West whos 3rd, Jordan whos 2nd, and Wilt who's 1st. Besides Wilt was not a ball hogging- rapists! and also Kobe doesnt care about his team.....he wants all the attention. and HE SUCKS

I agree, chamberlain was a center that was taller than everyone in his era. it would be like yao ming playing some high school kids. kobe is the best pure scorer i think ever. the oly person that could shoot better than him in there prime was believe it or not tracy mcgrady. he could hit anything from anywhere. he would be gaurded by 3 guys and then jsut jump over or between them for a three pointer. But tracy's prime was short while kobe and jordan ahve been able ot do it longer.

beacuase wilt scored 100 points in a game and kobe might be able to do that this season or maybe even next season

i''l give you 2 reasons, kobe with 81, chamberlian with 100, kobe with 4 consecutive 50 point games, chamberlian with 4 consecutive game, and i hate kobe and i think wilt is better
