Right I have enought stars and I am standing in the light on the sun rug and I look up and a Voice says "Hey Mario" They nothing happens?

No I don't think I have missed anything, I have tried loads of times. It zooms in on Mario and a square comes up with the following message a voice from above is saying "Hey... Mario..."

just going to try it again - will get back to you - you should have been teleported on to the wing cap stage
ADDED: You should just stand on the rug and look up - you will be transported to the wing cap stage and you fly to the platform in the middle with the big red switch. Jump on the switch and that is it - all the red blocks in the game should then be open - have you missed anything
Have you beaten the first Bowser stage? I think that may be whats stopping you.. Give it a try and get back to me.

After obtaining 14 stars, stand on the Sun carpet in the main plaza. Enter first person view mode and look up to the beam of light. In the new world, stomp on the red switch in the middle tower to unlock the red ! boxes.
