i have an 1983 buick regal, and i would like to know what size width of rim i can put on the car without changing anything. Ex: 245 or 255 or 235 or 225

Without changing anything safely you can go up 2 rim sizes. You will need to get an alignment right away though.

OK the regal is just like all the other mid size GM cars of that era, Being I once was a tire man I could only get a 245 50 on a 9" wheel that is deep set within an inch of the frame and inner fender well but be awfully care-full of taking fast corners where your car leans. But they look hella cool under there.

To get a truthful answer go to tirerack.com and call toll free. They will tell you what plus fittments you can choose without inner fender clearance problems.

If you choose to do it on your own, always maintain your stock back spacing of your standard wheel. It's the measurement from the inside mounting flange to a straight edge across the inside outer rim.
