I know i should probably feed her more veggies, and less pellets, but I want to know if that's true? Or is the dewlap supposed to be there as my rabbit matures?

dewlaps are a natural occurence, especially for some breeds more than others. I know rexes are very prone to them. It's like a little storage place for them and in some cases shows good breeding, believe it or not.

As far as a rabbit's diet, there is a lot of confusion on pellets. Some people don't use them because they are high in fat content and a rabbit who eats mostly pellets will be prone to be more plump, and have a more pronounced dewlap.

I feed my 5 pound rex a diet 1 cup of fresh veggies, an 1/8-1/4 cup of pellets twice a day and unlimited timothy hay at all times of the day. A diet of mostly pellets will make the dewlap more pronounced!!!

Dewlaps are natural, however lack of excersize will cause them to be excessive. Bunnies are really playfull, so have at it, and play with them all u can!!! The,ll love you for it!
