How can the evil of female foeticide be eradicated from indian society.?

North western region is gradually becoming a region where birth rate of girls is declining. punjab is topping in this phenomenon.

Its a sickening thing...Infanticide is awful, but people also do it in other parts of the world as well such as china , where they are limited as to how many children they can have, people are going out and getting ultrasounds and aborting if its told that its a girl.
I think education is a very important in these countries. The governments should take a strong stand. This was widely practiced in the middle east as well centuries ago,
when the quran was revealed the quran made specific references to it as being a sin.

How about creating a society where females are as valued as males? Perhaps if people desired female children; if females could have the earning potential that males do, then parents wouldn't worry about who might support them or take care of them in their old age....

If females are not considered as valuablel as males, there is less incentive to keep them.
