comedy has always been based on differences, of position in society, place of origin, etc. The reason that this country is in such a mess is that the normal speech and interplay between people is now hindered by the PC brigade. What is wrong with saying exactly what you think as long as the other party can do likewise.

The difference is the comedy shows/movies you have named are just making fun of the issue. The do not mean harm to anyone- its for the laughs and the things that would seem out of the ordinary.

Whereas what happened in the Big Brother house was reality. It was a few people desperate for 15 minutes of fame and their true colors came out. They did not do it as a joke, they did it to offend.

Well that is my opinion,

Ermmm,

1) Borat, and other Sacha Baron Cohen characters, are there to highlight the problems of racism.

2) How can Goodness Gracious Me be racist, it's asians playing the characters.

Comedy programmes are poking fun at stereotypes.
Big Brother just showed the racists in their true colours.
There is a difference between satire and reality.

I even think that comedians get a little too close sometimes, and I wouldn't want to be in their situation!
