my last cervical exam (about 2 weeks ago) showed my cervix still high and very thick - I started having contractions about 10:45 last night and they lasted until about 4 this morning. I was told to go to the hospital just to see I was progressing. I was told I am 80% effaced and that the baby is -1 station but I'm not dilated. I was just wondering if anyone else has done this and what the best thing to do is to help get this going-lol-I am just going crazy thinking about it as is every mom-to-be I presume. Is it generally a good thing to be more effaced before going into actual labor? From personal experience has anyone else experienced this and about how long did it take to go into true labor? Did you do anything that actually helped get more effaced/dilated? any answers are greatly appreciated! Thanks! btw, I have 2 due dates - one is April 17 and other is April 7 (conflicting early ultrasounds) plus no LMP due to previous miscarriage right before this pregnancy

i am at 2 cm and 50% effaced and all that i have heard was acupressure and lots of walking and sex. so far all that works is the acupressure but it just don't make the contractions regular.

The only thing I ever heard was do a lot of walking. I personallly did go through labor, I had a C-section. But I heard walking does the trick.
