Check with your local bank that does international money transactions. You can also go to a western union office if you have one. Check their website for locations www.westernunion.com

Write a note, with instructions and address, and the money, and put this in an old milk bottle. Then, throw it in the ocean. If someone finds it, in the wrong place, the can read the address, and throw the bottle back in the right direction. This is a sure fire method.

Using glue, fold the bills into an envelope shape. Then put a nice letter inside and mail them to the UK.

seems weird to send money from one country to anoth country using a 3rd country's currency (unless you are sending millions in some FX transaction).

I am not sure, but I sent money by Western Union to Ghana. So, I would suggest that you try WESTERN UNION.
