I am so glad you asked. YES! I have noticed it much more this time around.
And I am so tired of people saying "It is their choice and their private business." They are the ones that called the press. If it was a private matter, we would not know about it and he would not be running for office.
I am also tired of hearing "They should not sit home and dwell on the illness." This is such a stupid argument; as if there are 2 choices. Cancer and treatment of it is not easy if you do not have a job to do. I cannot imagine that we should have a president in this position. (Not that I can imagine we need a trial lawyer of his record as president anyway.)

Actually when they were giving the press conference I saw several times that he gave her very loving looks and a couple of times had tears in his eyes. Maybe the just aren't comfortable with being very affectionate in public. My dad and mom would never hug in public and they are very much in love after almost 40 years.
I don't have the same politics as John Edwards and I would never vote for him but honestly I think that they are handling this the best way they know how. Only they can really judge if he should continue on and from what I've seen of them I don't think he would continue if she didn't want him to.

I believe you couldn't be further from the truth! For what these two loving, caring, and compassionate people have been thru in their lives, it has brought them even that much closer.
There's a hell of a lot of chemistry between them and you are totally way off base. And as far as the matter of John continuing the campaign, it was a joint decision between the both of them. He would never have continued the campaign without the concurrence of Elizabeth.
Please don't get sucked in by what Fox and other biased news sources are saying... It's the worst thing you can do!

I don't know any more than you do about their personal lives, but why do some people assume she is going along with his campaign against her will?
She has devoted much time and energy to her husband's campaigns and wants to see him as President. When people have a goal that they've been working toward for years, it is not always the best thing to give it up completely when they get sick.
Finally, as far as the chemistry thing? I don't know, there are many couples who are very demonstrative and then two months later you hear they are getting a divorce.

i'm not an edwards fan...
however, it's their decision to do what they want to do. wasn't mrs. edwards a successful lawyer on her own? i'm sure she can speak up for herself. as for them looking odd when hugging, etc. i haven't noticed anything, but she may be in a lot of pain making displays of affection in front of the camera too much to bare.
i sure wouldn't want to be on the campaign trail nor have my husband off either while going thru a terrible illness. but that's the choice they made and its none of my business. i would never vote for him anyway -- doesn't matter if his wife is sick or healthy. i do wish her the best though.

From past appearances i have found the Edwards very fond and supportive of each other. I do not agree with their decision to continue on the campaign trail.

This learn is by way of no potential solid. there is not any way in hell that rock followers have a greater IQ than steel followers with reference to the personalities they often have. And digital music on suitable? particular, some varieties of it, yet how are jazz and steel not up there the two? maximum steel followers i know comprise rather sensible who've a classicist style and attempt to familiarize themselves with political technology. This survey additionally does not think approximately people who delight in different genres and the certainty that many genres that are deemed to be "lesser" don't have their greater state-of-the-paintings artists provided. This survey in basic terms reeks of holes.

How dare you sit in judgment of these people. Have you walked a mile in their shoes. It's also her dream to see that her husband is elected president, and she wants her life to go on the way it has been. Would you rather she climb into bed and bemoan her fate, and quietly pass on. If she wants to fight... she should be allowed to do so without narrow minded people saying she's too sick. She knows how she feels. As for hugging... do you remember she has a broken rib - have you ever had one... I doubt you'd be amenable to hugging if you did. Their private life is just that - theirs... and, I can't figure out what gives everyone the right to judge!

That whole announcement scene seemed more than a little strange to me. Most of the time she was standing a little behind and more than arms length away from him, like she was afraid she was going to intrude on his camera time. Let's face it. The guy is as cold as a frozen mackerel. I mean, come on, what's the first thing you would think of if your spouse was diagnosed with incurable cancer? A political campaign that has zero chance of succeediing anyway? But hey, he's a lawyer. He comes by his sliminess naturally.

Whether she is able to continue the campaign or not she wants her life to go on as usual and is willing to give it a try, and he is willing to put up with close minded narrow little people like you to grant his wife's wishes.
Shame on you, assuming that everyone who does not react like your family is somehow "off".
This will also keep breast cancer awareness on the front pages, may save lots of lives by reminding women about those mammo's if you're over 40.
Chemistry between people is very different - I see Bush and his wife's chemistry as him controlling her, Clinton and his wife's as showmanship; but that does not mean that my interpretation, from watching them, is correct. It's just what I see, and may be as accurate or inaccurate as what you see.
