I do not know what year your car is, but if the window is falling down, more than likely the gears are stripped that push the brackets thereby lifting the window in place. You can usually order that part thru Checker Auto or Autozone. Fair warning to you, they are not easy to replace on most vehicles.

You need to give more information about the car. If it is a VW there is a known problem with the clips. VW has extended the warrantee on the window clips for 7 years. The dealer should replaec them for free. If it isnt a VW you are prob stuck going to the dealer for the parts.

Most of the time the parts in the door that broke are plastic. You can get them from the dealer, but it is probably better to go to a junkyard. That way you can practice taking apart a door on a junk car so you don't destroy your door. Some door panels can be tricky to remove, just take your time.

You'll need to pull the door panel for access, the parts you refer to are some place inside the frame of the door itself.
