Western thinking and culture has brought us many great things, but it still hasn't figured out how to make a garden hose that won't drive you nuts while you use it.

You CAN buy kink less hoses!

In our lifetime, no! Most often it is not the hose as the storage of it. You extend and have it on a reel and just run the reel to collect it. Some you just coil and lay it by the outlet.
Regardless of the cost the care given equals the results.
Make sure that the hose is empty of both pressure and water when you are finished. Walk the length of the hose from base to nozzel to basically flatten the hose. Wrap the hose around you arm using your hand and elbow as the point wraps.
When using the hose make sure it is fully extended. Let the water pressure prevent the kinks. Stretch it out to it's full extent before you set where the water will be directed. A pain but it will keep your hose from having a kink and you from having a pain in another area.. Good Luck

Yes, but we will first need to solve the problem of "memory" in the materials used in their construction while keeping the price low. Several expensive hoses claim to be "kink-free" and the one I had a couple of years ago would definitely not kink...it was hard as heck to roll up, but would not kink. For now, "buyer beware" reigns supreme and all I can say is, "you get what you pay for".
