Probably your A/C compressor kicking off / on as the ambient temperature maintains a steady setting... The compressor takes a good amount of engine power so there exist electronic actuators that automatically compensate for this by giving it a little more fuel when it kicks on, then reducing the fuel some when it kicks back off. This would affect your rpm's a little bit, more so on an automatic, you would see it on the needle indicator, and it is completely normal.
To confirm this, pay careful attention as you drive, you might even hear a slight 'click' when it does it (from the compressor's electro-magnetic clutch 'kicking' it sounds almost like a light switch clicking on / off but it's under the hood so it can be hard to hear) but also there might be other ways you can tell this is going on, such as idling with the hood open and watching this fascinating throttle / compressor related behavior happening.

Sounds like the torque converter clutch is unlocking and then locking back in on you. That could happen when you step on gas or release pedal and step back on it. It may be normal if you're one of those nervous drivers that can't keep or hold a speed.
