Arabic North Africans are typically classified as Caucasian. North Africans of darker complexion would be considered African American. That's technically how it works. This information is based on current legal categorization of people of various ethnic groups - (I have done some work in Human Resources).

Racial identity and understanding in the United States can be very complicated. Please do not make any attempt to understand the logic of it (because it isn't logical and opinions vary from person to person).

My advice to you is to be who you are and forget about being classified and categorized. Just be a human being!

Egyption is African as that is the country you were born.
I was born in the U.S..so I am American German American
so
the place of ones birth is the nationality of that person
if they moved to another country ..then they are still whatever nationality they were born as....

You could be Egyptian / American as Africa is not a country. I don't think I'm North American...I don't think you are black. Look at the people there. They are'nt black or white ! Africa has many countries, does'nt it ?

if your are fillling in a form or something with an option for different backgrounds and nationalities then you should put down Arab/Egyptian - Middle Eastern
