" we" don't think we are the greatest. we have the talent to become the greatest, if the daily rags stopped putting so much pressure on the players maybe they could relax and play the excellent football we know they are capable of . our day will come . oh , and remember, the prem league is probably the most demanding and congested league in Europe at least and a three week break before a major competition is not the best preparation for the talent we have to freshen up and be at our fittest , all the best.

sports is only a game - it is not a measure of a nations true greatness - the ability to run an empire for over 400 years that was the biggest in the world is greatness - england did that. americas empire is about to fall because they are empty just money and weapons with no substance or essence - iraq iran and afghanistan will be the suez of america - only the english will know what I mean here. Americans are hated more than anyone in the world - I have been all over the world and seen it first hand. Dont let the modern era make you ashamed of being the victors for so long. Never stop thinking you are the greatest - I have two degrees - a college diploma and am in a masters degree program and that is thanks to me being from england. My parents brought me to Canada when I was 10 and I did not want to come - I hated it. I pushed on though and made something good out of it. I remembered my heritage and all of the greats from England - I have that to think of. If I had not had all that I would have been in a crap job because I hated it here and was depressed etc. Now I can come back to England. Little piece of **** countries that never accomplished anything think they are the greatest. Italians still think they are and it has been 1700 years since they were great - We only declined as an empire in the last 50. The world will never see another empire like the british.

The weight of expectation is maginifed by our glorious media who claim that our players are world class when as yet they have been anything but. Then the same newspapers etc take great delight in tearing the same players apart and reporting negativity.
The sooner England, and the English, learn to love a hero rather than want to knock him down we will be a better society. We should not expect to beat every nation at any sport, but we should have the attitude that we CAN win. Unfortunately we support losers, are happy with second best. The Australians, Americans, Germans etc aren't

The problem is ... England haven't used their talent in the international arena, and thats because there is no unity among the players like Gerrard and Lampard being in the same team who always look for goals. But then Lennon has to be brought in when Beckham is better, (yes becks cant run but set pieces and crosses are much important). And poor players like Carragher are still in the England side. Hargreaves has improved and Joe Cole hasn't been upto his best. Lack of playing together is causing the problems.. like they hardly play international games..

True
We need a whole new team I am disgusted with them all. They make so much money - these men are meant to be the creme de la creme of football - the best of England
hahaha
what a joke - and what a joke they have made of their loyal fans.
as for me - I was supporting Israel from the beginning - I expected this.

A lot of it is the fault of the English media hyping the whole country up. At the start of any tournament they talk about how they are going to win it, so obviously anything less than that is going to be a dissapointment.

It's just sport................yeah big money can be got by being good at sport.............but i don't think we built the British Empire on sport............... YES I know the British Empire was built on the back of cheap labour and war but............France, Germany, Holland, all did the same. The attitude we have is one of self humour coz we know we wont win anything worth winning but we cheer them on anyway.
