i don't know how you take care of your car but you need basic car maintenance done , wires spark plugs filters and injector cleaner , oil changes every change of seasons, do all this on a regular basis and your car will take care of you, now for the check engine light , go to autozone and they will help you locate the code of the problem, most of the time that light comes on because you have neglected something, get it fixed so you won't be sitting on the side of the road, good luck and let me know how you turn out.

I accept as true with the final answer yet once you % to maintain it, evaluate a used lowq mileage eastern engine to your vehicle. 3M-GEs have not been utilized in years yet you will locate a low mileage one nevertheless. Headgasket will value you concerning an identical (if not greater) and you'd be out of a vehicle for longer. good success. BTW, your tranny is in all possibility nice. The thunk and jerk once you shift is because of the fact the vehicle is idling so extreme. feels like the previous proprietor replaced into attempting to conceal some thing. $950? in case you reside in California, the employer is meant to smog the vehicle- not the shopper.

sounds like to me it has an idle sensor that went bad // the check engine light doesnt come on for no reason // take it to a ase certified shop and have them diagnose and repair your problem// the reason i mention ase certified is in case they replace parts and dont correct the problem u can still take your car back and they will have to fix your car at cost and they are more reliable than those shadetree mechanics// god bless good luck

You have a serious safety issue going on, all indicators tell me that you need to take it to a shop. I had a Datsun that would not not slow down under 40 MPH. Get it fixed soon.
