The term mandate has been misused by both sides of the government. No, they don't and neither did Bush or Clinton.

All of what you call "Pork" is leftover business that needed to be addressed when the republicans controlled congress. America voted the Dems in office because they were disgusted with the way Repubs and Bush are running this war. The Democratic congress is finally listening to the people and you complain? Come on. The Dems are holding from from totally cutting off funding for the troops because that would be terrible if they couldn't defend themselves. We have no business being in Iraq, it is a civil war despite all the other names republicans have given it.

Bush has over spent without looking into where the money has been going, and much has been wasted.

I personally do not want to give another penny of my hard earned money to support this occupation and keep our troops in harms way.

It's Bull, total Bull and it's time Bush brought the majority of our troops home.

I am not certain they are buying votes as much as doing payback for the last election. The pork is going to states where they picked up seats, it is like saying see you vote us into control and we will send money to your state. There is also an implied threat to the new dems in congress, if you go against us we will not send pork to your state.

It all sounds very criminal to me, using our money to buy elections and to destroy our country.

Yes they do have a mandate. It is to undermine the troops and the President at every turn. They are so full of themselves and honestly think the American people support their idiotic actions.
