No, they do not shave you for a natural birth OR a c-section. I'm surgical tech in the OR and one of my many jobs is to prep and drape the patient and they do NOT shave you for a c-section, it is not necessary.

Someone said they shave your whole belly???? NO they do not. I've been working in the OR for years and have done tons of c-sections, shaving the belly is not part of prepping a patient for a c-section. Part of my job is prepping and drapping the patient and shaving them is not part of it.

Depends on who you hired to catch the baby when the baby comes out. I had a midwife and she didn't shave, but she did see a need for an episiotomy. That was a real pain in the

This used to be quite common but no they don't do it anymore. Right before the birth they will wash you down with an antiseptic solution...however you are more than welcome to maintain your area in its usual fashion all the way through your pregnancy...as long as you can see and/or reach down there to do it LOL.

they don't shave unless they see a need to do it. i myself always shaved before i went in. i didn't want people seeing a hairy mess down there but when i got mt c-section they only shaved the area needed to do the procedure
