C'mon...You got to be kidding me, supposedly we have about 30,000 years of human history and people still donk know there correct roles, male female child? Gender seems to be a serious problem these days and its common sense! Subatomic particles DO NOT change thier polarities by themselve or thier orientation acoording to others, and these things are INANIMATE. But people do, sub atomic particles do not disturb each other unless something ANIMATE does it. Humans kill each other over FEELINGS, objects just wear themselves out. I cant believe you people cant SEE that WE are on the brink of EXTINCTION because you cant understand simple physical rules like The Roles Of Particle Orientation. You cant possibly give a liable cause for believing that we evolved from apes, APES DONT RAPE EACHOTHER, APES DONT HARRASS EACHOTHER in a TORTUOUS fashion, just because. We are de-evolving, every industry on earth is suffering now, because people like to use things out of context, and that is anti-evo!

NO, the reason why is enviroment is what progresses evolution and we took this out of the picture, so no we are not evolving anymore unless we went back a few thousand years and started living like the animals but we took the enviroment out of the picture

Interesting spin on evolution. First, Apes, Dolphins, Monkeys and a lot of other animals do kill, rape and abuse each other just because they can. I watch a lot of Discovery channel. However, even Darwin himself denounced his theory of evolution on his death bed. Look at our eyes. Rods and cones make no sense. It would have been impossible (with what we know now) for them to have evolved. That is just the facts. However, I do believe that all animals evolve over a long long period of time. However, we as humans kind of stopped evolving because we just alter the environment to meet our "wants." So, I agree to a point. Humans are not really evolving at a rate that will ever be detectable before our extinction. But your theory about animals being wonderful to each other isn't a great argument for the theory or against. It lacks a little merit.

P.S. As we continue to grow our knowledge, someday we may know where the rods and cones originated. Until then we certainly can not support the theory we came from animals.

Animals have to kill for food. We don't have to, we have farms and some of us are even vegans. And FYI, not all people hurt and kill each other, just the psycho ones. And what's with the gender thing? In every species anomalies can occur, so I don't see how gender confusion/homosexuality makes us any less evolved than the apes. If we become too dependant on technology, though, I think one day we may start to devolve, as in become stupider.

Dear friend, let me clarify one thing right up front. Apes and chimps do everything you mention and more.
As to humans evolving, of course we are evolving. A big part of evolution is behaviour, which is something very difficult to guess or deduct from fossil remains. Most of the things that Darwin proposed and everything that evolutionary biologists propose are formed on the basis of fossil remains and present evolved forms of older species. Behaviour on the other hand is something that is very difficult to deduct from those sources and yet has a big influence on evolution.

For example, humans are one of the very species whose off-spring can't walk or 'talk' within one month of their birth. The off-spring have to be cared for, for at least a decade (in some cases more than 2), before they can take care of themselves and that is a direct result of behavior.

Having said that, human behavior is definitely evolving, where in we aren't hunter-gatherers anymore. A substantial portion of the human population has the time and inclination for such things as music and art, unlike our chimp ancestors.

And of course, we also have evolved behavior wherein, we have worked towards and are capable of annihilating almost everyone within our species. At the same time, we have also evolved behaviour to recognise this power and learn from past abuses of such power as a species.

As to gender, the roles of the female and male in human society themselves are changing, again examples of evolution of human behavior. A time may come wherein females might be the 'bread-winners' and child producers and males are nothing but care givers. It is very common in other species.

To summarize, yes, we are definitely evolving and the biggest impact behavioral evolution is changing things rapidly.

It is clear from what you're saying that you are *this* (imagines stretching arms from one end of the universe to the other) close to understanding evolution. Your statements do not have anything to do with evolution AT ALL.

Biologically speaking, evolution simply means the change of GENETIC composition of a population of people. Apes and humans killing each other have not been linked to any gene which could be passed on from generation to generation. If they were linked, they would be mutations since they are not the norm in the human populations and that they are isolated cases. It may be because media is propagating all these negative behavior of the culture of killing. Remember, people have the ability to rationalize and interpret phenomena to apply it to their own situations. This ability may be genetic (passed on to generations of humans), but how we interpret things is not. We have unique opinions on things:these do not rely on our genes but are shaped by our own experiences. In other words, they are acquired and are not heritable. Humans are *that* "complex" to not rely on genes alone for survival or living because we can communicate to each other (e.g. media) and acquire experience or knowledge.

Your statements on senseless learning of subatomic particles are what struck me the most. They are, in fact, baseless and just plain ignorance. In fact, if it weren't for researches on these subatomic particles, you wouldn't be able to come face to face with a desktop or laptop computer, type, and rant on Yahoo! answers on how humans are de-evolving at this very moment. Electrons are the main driving force on how your computers work, and of course, they are subatomic particles. So what if they are inanimate, if you could do something to manipulate them for your own benefit, then why not? You have computers, don't you? If it weren't for our intellect, the product of human evolution, we wouldn't have computers, have medicines to help us live longer, and many many more things we didn't have a hundred years ago. If what you say is "de-evolution" on our part like killing each other, let me tell you that these kinds of things happened a long time ago, but it didn't stop us as humans from reaching the level of technology we have now, right? And why worry about reaching the brink of extinction for our species? There are practically 6 billion humans on Earth and this is still increasing as we speak!

As for people not evolving, it is impossible. There are things that we can't fully control yet, like the weather and other phenomena. Some diseases are present today that we couldn't control as of yet. These are powerful forces that could force our evolution as a species to uncharted paths.

And lastly, we did NOT evolve from apes! That is a very, very common misconception among those who don't understand evolution very well. Believe me, I had that same notion before and was against evolution because of that. Thanks to my biology lesson, many myths about evolution were eradicated from my system and I came to a greater appreciation to this topic. Humans and apes just had the same ancestor, went to different evolutionary paths, just like branches of a tree where they grow simultaneously together but on different paths.

They definately ARE evolving but it slow, arduous and takes a long perspective to see. The negative aspects you cite do not go away in a moment, or even a lifetime, they just get "less bad" in a small way in a lifetime. And reality is that people will never be perfect and that is what you are suggesting.

Of course we're evolving. Things are constantly evolving, you can't say we're not because we don't know what our next evolutionary step would be. So to assume we're de-evolving is silly and to hazard a guess at what the next evolutionary step is is unlikely to come to any fruition. All we know is that life adapts and survives. We're alive aren't we?

I believe in GOD ,and the fact that he made us in his likeness. He made Adam, then with a rib from him , made Eve ! If we evolved from apes , then why are there still apes ? I do not believe that one thing can become another of a different species !

maybe some people are evolving and some people are like you said, de-evolving, you brought up an interesting point, and i think you would like the show heros on nbc, (i think), its all about the human genetics and evolution and such,
*i could see you writing a book or something one day about your views :)
