Pain is there for a reason. It is telling you something. Make sure you aren't ignoring pain that should be heeded. You don't say how you are being hurt. I hope you are not doing things that needlessly increase likelihood of injury. Be willing to take time off and let yourself heal.
That aside, I think experience and age will help. And do not underestimate the power of human will. Once you believe that is more important than anything not to cry, you won't. Not sure that this is the best goal in the world, but it can be your goal.
Also, be willing to shed a quiet tear without giving yourself over to the pain. When you're hurt, if possible, close your eyes and give yourself permission to feel hurt for a certain number of seconds. Count them out in your head to yourself. Then make yourself think about other things. Also, make sure you are not crying to get attention. The initial impulse to cry is not attention seeking but anything after the first few seconds often is.

I am 27 and have been in unbearable pain quite a bit. But when I feel the need to cry then I just let them roll. They are very helpful and most often than not relieves some of the pain. Another thing you can try with the release of your tears is a good long soak in a bath with lavendar oil. It helps me alot. Good Luck and God Bless.

Pain serves an important purpose, it prevents you from destroying your body. The few people that don't experience pain (from birth), don't ease up when hurt to let their bodies heal when injured, and end up with bad joint problems, and worse.
The whole point of "fighting back tears" is to continue fighting when you are in a fight. Like life and death. In these cases, you have to stay alert, fight back, and focus on the moment.
Otherwise, fighting back tears in anything else is not helpful or expected.
If your "profession" at age 19 is already causing you unbearable pain ... that is sort of a sign you need to do something else.

Well I often let my tears fall. I never want to restrain my sadness whatsoever. It is so unhealthy to repress your emotions and feelings. When I wanna cry, then I cry. When I wanna laugh then I laugh. I don't care what people say or think of me if I often cry and weep. Happiness first has to come within your soul. You can't rely or depend your happiness on someone or something. Crybaby is not that bad. Those who never cry all their lifetime are those who are suffered the most by their lack of self-expressions. Those who never cry or hold back tears all the time are not human beings at all but they are simply robots.

Don't feel bad about yourself for letting your emotions out. Pain is a difficult thing to live with and I do 24/7. I have to admit that some days it really gets to me and it has to come out. Tears are a way to release your feelings so let it out when you need to.

release of tears releases something else in the brain...that element is a pain killer , thats why after a good cry we feel release , hey crying is human , not crying is not healthy , those who mock of tears those are unhealthy ,usually theyre too afraid to cry only the real men and women cry , yet they stand up again , we've done that since we born , learned to walk , learned to talk , learned to .......ok ....

The only time I cried because I was in terrible pain was when I had a cyst on my ovary. I thought I was going to die. I cried alot but it didn't help. It's not being a cry baby to cry if your in pain physical or emotional.

I don't normally have the urge to cry when I get hurt. Last year when I broke my foot I just sat there holding my breath. LOL

If this helps the pain then do it. Don't worry about what others think it is about you.
