Time machines are not possible. Since you're question is like asking for a history of the world, find a book about the topic and read it.

You answered your own question, the most simple term for this is Time Travel! thats what the theory of relativity is all about. Time travel can definately be possible. The question from you though should be, "If you travel in time to the future, will you see anything there, since that time hasnt come yet, will it be just total darkness"? Thats one to ponder, eh? Say youre going back to the old west, you can see that time because that has happened, but the future hasnt happened yet, so what would you find there if no events have happened?.Get it? Good luck.

Relativity is just the view point of one object in relation to another object.
Nothing to do with temporal projection!
