Sorry... I wonder which place in Italy do you think, when you think to Italy?
When I watch TV or I read, everybody talks about Tuscany, even The Simpsons in their show go to Italy, in Tuscany! But there isn't only Tuscany in Italy, so I wonder what does people think?

It's like when you say you are from England - people (especially Americans) think you're from London! Italy is fab - I've visited Tuscany, Venice, Amalfi coast and Rome. It is my favourite country in Europe because of the diversity in climate, the food and the friendly people. As a travel agent, I always try and encourage my clients to drag themselves away from the hotel pool and try and experience some of the local culture. It's such a shame when countries get stereotyped in our minds.

Assolutamente non e' cosi'!

It is true that, for deeply rooted historical and cultural reasons, very many English people automatically think of the cities associated with Renaissance art and the Romantic poets of the English Enlightenment ... Florence and Venice, and of course, Rome.

I love Siena, because it is the first Italian city I got to know -she is unique and I will always admire and love her very much.

But personally, when I think of Italy, I think first of Napoli, la canzone e cucina napoletane e la costiera amalfitana ... then I think of the wild and beautiful land of Calabria (cosi' travagliata ahime'), and always of Sicilia bedda, Puglia with her trulli and the pizzica tarantata, and of course Sardinia and her fascinating language and music ... sempre al Meridione ci penso.

Sono italoinglese .... Baci, ciao!
