It's incredibly unlikely. The test won't show positive unless there is hCg in your bloodstream, and the only reasaon that is there is if you are pregnant. I've always been told that even the faintest positive should still be considered positive.

You are, however, very likely to get a false negative, especially if you test too early.

Sorry if that's not what you wanted to hear.

A positive result means there are HCG (pregnancy) hormones in your system. the test will not show up positive without these hormones and your body does not produce these unless you are pregnant. A false positive is unbelievable rare. the only exception to this is if you very recently (as in a matter of days) had a baby or experienced a misscarriage. In either case you would most likely still be bleeding and would not have take the test in the first place.

I remember being in your shoes about 6 years ago. LOL! The chance of a "false positive" is pretty slim. It spells it out in the paperwork that came with the test, but it's rare. If you want someone to talk to, let me know. I've got tons of resources on the whole single parenting thing. PS - It will be FINE!

not likely, unless you take medications that would show the hcg hormone(there are a few). No false (+) otherwise. Seeing those two lines can send a whole bunch of emotions to the surface. Take it day by day and you will figure it out.

I took one and it said positive, and the next morning my bf made me take the other one in the box to be sure and it was negative....so it does happen, but not often.

Not at all, unless you are 8 weeks or less postpartum, or you have a miscarriage.
