Right I watched this programme no more that 10 years ago. It had a little girl in it and she was special, she could contact these aliens that were coming. Now I remember the end and the girl ended up in this like huge shed and when the aliens were coming her heart beat shot up and it was really weird. I also remember (I think) that they had a hostage situation at the beginning but not sure. Or was this just a dream I had many years ago?

You might be talking about the sci-fi series called "Taken", which was on television a few years back ( BBC2 in the United Kingdom) and was a Steven Spielberg production, though I'm not certain, I did watch it and I can remember a young girl in it (Dakota Fanning)who in the end had to go to leave and was taken but the alien spaceship because of her "abilities" and authorities were after her, she would write what happened to her down in a diary, it focused on several abductees, two of which were her mum and dad but because she was part alien she was wanted by the bad guys (scientists etc) so they could test experiments on her so she had no choice but to leave Earth and join the spaceship! It was a bit long winded but it got much better towards the end and the Young actress was very good in it, hope that's helped!
