Everyone faces these types of situations fairly regularly. People are often quick to judge others and form opinions that are not true and mistreat others. Such is life! To keep your head above the relationship waters so-to-speak, we must (1) be true to ourselves and be the way we feel to be, (2) consider others opinions in a positive light, dropping opinions that are not true, (3) treats others the way you would have them treat you, (4) never go into a shell because you feel others always mistreat you, (5) stay positive in relationships and always work for a negotiated settlement of issues. Negative begets negative, and positive begets positive. Love conquers all things! Always love, it will help change hearts over time. Love yourself, especially!

What Muriel did is very no good I can say. I suggest you tell your friends that you want all of you to go and face Muriel and then ask her straight away when exactly you said these bad things about her and if she lied behind your back, why not she tries to lie in front of you looking at your eyes and tell the things she said are true or not! You should tell your friends, if they care for you they will believe you that you didn't say anything bad to Muriel and she made it all up because you had told her you consider it is not good for you both to carry on that way. Tell your friends honestly how everything is, people have eyes do not be afraid what they might think, with the time the truth will pop up, if they know you since years, they should know you aren't able to say so bad things. If you really can contact Muriel explain politely to her that her revenge of your decision is not worth and even after stop being friends people should have still respect their ex friends for the time they shared together. Tell her she felt bad when you told her not to be friends anymore but now she is making a situation in which you are not feeling alright, and besides it is not your fault now but when you ended your friendship I suppose she also had half of the fault so that was the reason. Tell her to learn play a fair game, because she may have success with the lies now, but one day it would be a lesson for her and it might hurt, so it is better she realizes it on time and start playing fair and honest game because people get what they give! Hope everything comes to the right place and I am sure you could also find new friends. Wish you luck!

i think now would be a time to get some honest friends. do you have muriel's phone #? if you do, tell her how you feel and how you didnt mean to do that and what you meant to do. she might not tell your friends that she was wrong, but you know you made something right. they might stop after a while but, this is the cold hard truth. try hanging out with someone you dont normally hang out with. i do it all the time. it can be quite fun, interesting and new and you might find a friend that believes you didn't do anything bad to hurt them or anyone else. anyway, i hope you find your right path to your problem.

I'm am a adult and though out the years it has always been friends that can hurt you the most. Embrass this lesson don't allow yourself to get so rapped up with someone again. As for now, you have to ride that wave and try to use facts and lodgic not emotion. Like if I said that how come this is what happened, stuff like that. In the future never tell anyone you don't want anyone esle to know.
