its because people need to think they are better than tom in someway so they pick on his height. its like when people call david beckham stupid, they just do it so they feel like they are better than him in some way. its quite sad actually.

I think men not intimidated by a taller woman is a sign of a true confidence. It's easy to point the finger and snicker at someone we don't have the chance of being confronted by. Al Pacino would blow your face off if he heard you talking smack about his height. Danny Devito is another short actor. By the way how tall/short is Tom Cruise?

Because he is short, but plays all these characters that are tough manly roles. He also struts and acts as if he is this big guy. I have heard Al Pacino jokes about his height, but not as often. Maybe it has more to do with his personality. I don't thikn Al has the ego Tom does. Not that I ever did, but you convinced me. I won't make fun of Tom's height anymore.

Because those that do make fun don't particularly care for him. He pushes his religion a little too hard and people do not like it. I use to think he was the greatest especially in "Jerry McGuire." Once he dumped Nicole in the fashion he did, that did it for me. After that it seemed all he talked about was "Scientology" so they have to have something to say and they say its his height.

Maybe it's because he said a remark about women. That they were exsageratng about there hormones. That they were whimps. So instead of saying the word hormones, they take it out on his height. I personally don't like him...he's a jerk. That's my opinion!

he is well below the average guy's height, especially for hollywood, and the kind of roles that he plays. Additionally, it's awkward I guess that his wife Katie Holmes is taller than him, so it's easy for people to want to make fun of him.
