My parents started me on piano lessons at about 5 years old. A few years later I decided to quit. They said OK and put a sheet over the piano and I was forbidden to touch it. After some time I recall almost begging to resume the lessons.

I later became a somewhat accomplished church organist and earned thousands of $$ per year with my Sunday "side-job".

Music is an art...not an academic discipline. The student must WANT to do it. Otherwise, there is no point in taking the lessons and anything learned will be soon forgotten and not missed.

The first answerer is right! Do nto force your child.

Don't punish him for not playing! If he wanted to play then he will still do, its just that at the moment he may not want to practice. If its not that fun for him anymore, then suggest forming a band to him, with one of his mates who plays guitar or something. Then he won't be on his own playing, which is never fun on the drums, and he'll have a reason to play- his own enjoyment, not because other people want him to.

things change.have him take it as a learning experience.instead of buying drums first he should have used someone Else's for a little while first to see if he was really into it.the real question is what is he our you going to get out of it buy making... him play? probably alot more negative than positive if any.

Do humans now not become aware of that Christ is known as and refers to Himself as "the Son of Man" forty three instances within the KJV New Testament. Obviously there is no concern among the terms.

Why should he play the drum anyway?

If he doesn't want to play it, then he doesn't have too!
