there's this kid. we'll call him D. he's in band, too. he's fat, a sophomore, and plays flute and french horn.
one day (tuesday) i was wearing a rather low-cut tank top (i'd had a shirt over it but taken it off cos it was warm in the band room, and also raining). so this kid D, after like semi-conversing with him for a second (i never really liked
him), he was like 'hey Cate, lemme try to guess your bra size.' and this was in the middle of the band room (i think that the band director had left) and there were a few groups of people (mainly guys) scattered around the room. he said it reeeeeeeeally loud too. then he PEERS AT MY BREASTS and says, 'oh, you're a 36B. like i had to guess. i already knew.' and i was like, 'uh, no.' he rolls his eyes. 'i'm right. it's not like it's hard. you're just flaunting your boobs to me.' says i, 'no, i'm not. what's wrong with you?' and then my friend S (female) says, 'yeah, Cate, you kinda are. you flaunt your boobs.'
what should i do? told my mom.

People can't get your goat if you don't let them know where it's tied. Your mistake wasn't how you dressed, it was in responding to him at all. Now everyone, including Cate, knows that it's a something that they can use to get to you.

All of the answers to "what should I do" will involve playing a sophomore's game. Just ignore him totally, to include not telling your friends you're ignoring him. You've really got more important things to do than worry about some fat sophomore flute player, don't you?

Just because someone dresses provocatively does not mean they derserve to be harassed. This would be like saying that a woman asked for getting raped because she dressed sexually. And we all know the fallacy in that. You have a right not to be subject to references to your private parts, whether breasts or other, at school. So, if you want to take action, you may want to tell the Principal/teacher if it continues.

Your chances of winning a lawsuit are minimal, however, due to something called the "words only" doctrine. If he touched you, you could sue for sexual battery, but since he just referenced your breasts verbally, tort law would not provide compensation, most likely.

With that said, you should dress in accordance with the school dress code; if you don't your complaint will probably not be as well-received. And, on a practical level, you probably would decrease the likelihood of being harassed by not wearing clothes where cleavage is showing.

Best of Luck.

In this world today you need to be very careful and think through what you wear. Although no man has the right to make lode commitments or rape a woman/girl for what she is wearing. However most men do not have self control with their thoughts resulting in poor behavior. So as women we must guard against this behavior watching what we wear, as not to provoke such behavior.
Your best defense against such a pervert is not to respond at all.Walk away and learn from the experience.

take his flute and shove it up his A$$
or slap him really really hard
and get someone to record a video of it with their cell phone and post the video on YouTube with his name and school as tags
that is some humiliation that he will never live down
or just ignore him completely that works too
