I've been trying to remove the old passenger side mirror to replace it with a new one I bought on eBay (some kid actually ran into the mirror and totalled it).

I've seen this old thread,

So far I have the cover off, and the large plastic nut is exposed. How do I get it off? Is there some kind of special spanner required? I've tried easing back the one way winders using a needle nosed pliers as suggested above, but trying to turn the nut still does nothing.

Any help would be hugely appreciated!!!!

I have no experience of ur car but if ur talking about the large plastic screw with the operating arm inside. With a pair of gasmans pliers and an old rag or towel, wrap rag around the screw and unscrew with pliers.

There may be eithe phllips screws or allen key screws to be undone, after this it should come off.

Tip, look at one to go on, u will see where sccrews go, also while unscrewing screws it would be a good idea to open the window and hold mirror or get a helper.

Refitting is the opposite of removing, but will be easier.

Ps this is fo a manual mirror which its most likely to be, however some top of range vehicles have an electric drivers door mirror as well as passengers side. If its electrical then u will have to remove door card and search for mirrors connection and disconnect it feeding it through any holes etc.

It may be that they are manual adjustment. If you cannot find a control which will be in reach when driving then they will be manual.
