It don't think it's going to be the best overall first because the coverage is going to end up being like crappy like the World Cup's was when it was in Korea in 2002, which is bad because I think the Seoul Olympic games was one of the best overall. Second if the world political scene keeps heating up a number of countries and athletes may not attend and part of what makes an Olympic games great in the modern era is the number of nations attending and the quality of athletes. Though I do believe regardless the opening ceremony is going to be one of the most memorable. But overall it's not going to be nowhere near overall relaxed mood that Barcelona or Seoul displayed.

.......just the opposite, as far as politics is concerned. CHINA is hell bent on making an impression to the world, and winning the most possible medals. Also, ...there will be a lot of security concerns, and terrorist will be a major concern in this communist country. Basically IOC made a great mistake awarding China the olympics, and will find out the hard way, ...hope I'm wrong, but we'll see.......

It is hard to say, apparently, Beijing is behind in their construction of facilities, due to lack of workers and companies not paying their workers, so that it a problem. Also, language barriers as well as cultural barriers are preventing certain "western" changes to occur. That aside, I think the people don't have a clue what is going to hit them, as they have not had the exposure or experience in something this international. I hope it will be a great time - we will have to wait and see the outcome, won't we?

I only hope so and i also hope that many of those americna steriod babies stay home and let true and natural talent like that of ASAFA and SHERONE prevail, americans will always be americans willing to do anything to win, look at gatlin who reaally think that he could use drugs to break asafa's record and didn'n get caught, well those chemical nibblers will be in for a susprise.

Only if they get another amazing DJ to open up the set! We've already seen Tiesto and Hawtin, so I'll be excited to watch the opening ceremonies! I hope they get Andy Moor or Jonas Steur, someone who is known, but not widely recognized!
