And what exactly are they marketing? Conservation? That's hardly marketing.

As with any potentially 'scary' news, there are a few who use it as an opportunity but that doesn't mean the threat isn't real.

Remember the guy who sold personal building parachutes after Sept 11? Do you think he caused the attacks just so he could make a buck?

Yes too many are jumping on the band waggon. It`s a nice little earner for the government. This old world has been turning and has existed through ice ages and god knows what and it`s still here. Not so long ago we were told an ice age was upon us. I grew up when we had smog every year. If car pollution is so toxic why do so many people like sitting outside cafe`s eating and drinking within 2-3 feet away from very congested high streets often with their children in pushchairs at car exhaust level. It would worry me more than what people put in their bins. It just dont add up to me.

To market what? High-efficiency light bulbs? Hydrogen cars? Solar power? Raising minimum emissions standard? Eating less beef.

My question for you would have to be, "Why are you against encouraging such things?" At this point, the only real argument among scientists isn't whether global climate change is real, but rather, how serious it is.

If enough of Greenland and Antarctica melts, this will release trillions of gallons of fresh water into the oceans. This extra fresh water alters the vertical flow of fresh and salt water, and will basically stall the gulf stream and other air flow belts. Once that happens, air from the tropics stops being pushed into other parts of the planet, and worldwide temperatures drop. Welcome new ice age.

The solutions for global warming is a global cooling day. Once a month, every homeowner, every business should be required to open all its doors and windows and turn their air conditions on full blast for 24 hours. If we can get this to happen all over the world, within 10 years we could lower the earth's temperature significantly, halting global warming. It is within our hands to save the planet from this insane cycle of weather! Open your windows in winter and turn on your heaters and stoves and ovens! We can balance the weather and everyone could enjoy a climate like Florida and Southern California! And don't you dare poo-poo this idea! We all know what an incredible effect man has on the global weather, Al Gore has told us how we are going to burn this planet to a crisp. Start the cooling today! crank up the A/C! fling open those windows! COOL EARTH NOW! COOL EARTH NOW! COOL EARTH NOW!

This is a real problem but they are jumping on the band wagon also. Everything green, costs three times as much to go green but what about the future? Also, if Americans are the only ones that go green, how much will it help? A dilemma.

It's easy to believe in global warming, since we are messing up the earth is so many other ways.

Pollution, chemically laden foods, dying species, etc.
