Actually the giraffe tongue is blue because it has very few blood vessels. Because of this the tongue appears to be black The animal eats a lot of thorny/prickly plants and would bleed profusively so God/nature takes care of its own.

A giraffe's tongue is 18 to 20 inches (46 to 50 centimeters) long and blue-black.

Some people think the color is to keep the tongue from getting sunburned.
