The problem arises from the fact that, technically, Blizz doesn't support WoW on Vista. That's not to say that it won't work, but Blizz is only willing to provide a certain amount of troubleshooting for it.
Assuming everything installed okay (which is, apparently, something of a crap-shoot with Vista), then you're probably either looking at a driver issue, or a permission issue. Without having any other info, I'd say to update as many drivers as you can to Vista-supported versions, and try again.

The problem is not Vista specifically. I have run WoW on beta version of Vista without any trouble, I installed it on RC1 and it ran just fine for 3 months.
Just last Friday I installed Vista 64-bit version and it is running beautifully!
Sometimes I have simply copied the directory over, other times I actually installed it from scratch.
The problem is not Vista. It is more likely a problem with hardware or drivers.
I am running a Core 2 Duo 6300 processor with 2Gigs of 800 Mhz RAM, an ASUS EN7950 512MB video with approx. 800Gigs of hard drive space. All of my drivers can be run out of the box without even having to download any drivers if I wanted to do so.
Ultimately, your problem is definately not Vista itself. The problem is your system's ability to run Vista, especially with regards to running Vista and playing WoW.
You either need new drivers, different hardware, or perhaps you might need to get some help from someone who knows how to install it properly if you are not, yourself, fully able to do so.
I assume you have checked the obvious already... such as the Windows Firewall, or any security software you have that might be preventing it from accessing the Internet.
Without you clearly stating details of what exactly happens instead of just sayind "it won't work on this system" we cannot help you.

I havent had a problem with vista and WoW. If you are having issues still, uninstall the entire game and/or expansion (Burning Crusade). After you install all of the games discs make sure you go through the downloader and get all the patches before moving on to the BC discs or playing. Then move onto the BC discs and do the same thing. After that it should be good to go.
Also make sure that Unblock anything that had to do with WoW or Blizzard. That may also be an issue.

IM sorry to hear you upgraded to vista. it still has alot of issues with games. I ran it on Vista for a while and couldnt deal with some of the memory based latency so i reinstalled XP. You might want to make sure all your drivers are up to date. All the windows security stuff is up to date and then check on www.worldofwarcraft.com if you are still having problems. someone else out there is bound to be having a similar problem. and it costs alot less then calling those best buy "geeks" who cant fix the time on a VCR. (sorry had a bad experience with them.)

Guild communication and management can be done through the guild commands. Players can get basic information about the guild, send guild chat messages, invite others to the guild, promote/demote them, remove them, set a message of the day, change the guild leader and even quit the guild.
Type /ghelp for a list of guild commands. Note that some commands can only be used by the guild leader.
/ginfo - Gives basic information about your guild
/g - Sends a chat message to all members of your guild
/o - Sends a chat message to all officers of your guild
/ginvite - invites another player to join your guild
/gremove - removes a player from your guild
/gpromote - promotes a player one rank within your guild
/gdemote - demotes a player one rank within your guild
/gmotd - sets the guild’s message of the day
/gquit - removes you from your guild
/groster - gives an entire guild roster
/gleader - sets another player as the guild master (guild master only)
/gdisband - disbands your guild (guild leader only)
